Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid Drops 1-Word Reaction to Crazy Game 1 Finish Between Knicks, Pacers
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia 76ers news: Virtually the entire basketball world was tuned in to Monday night’s Game 1 action between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. These two teams did not disappoint as the series opener went down the wire in what turned out to be an epic on-court battle.

Sixers superstar Joel Embiid appears to have been monitoring the game closely as well, and he could not help but react to the wild finish in Madison Square Garden.

Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid LOL’s at Knicks-Pacers Game 1

Embiid had just one word to describe his experience of watching the Knicks escape with a hard-fought 121-117 victory over Indiana to take Game 1:

For all we know, Embiid could have been referring to something entirely different in his cryptic one-word tweet here. Then again, he tweeted the same right as the game came to an end, so in all likelihood, the reigning NBA MVP had to be referencing Monday’s contest.

What he meant by his “LOL” reaction is even more mysterious. Then again, there were a couple of controversial calls at the end of Game 1 which were in favor of the Knicks, so maybe Embiid was laughing about that. There could be a bit of sarcasm in his tone considering how some believe that the Sixers were on the wrong end of missed calls against the Knicks as well in their first-round series.

Whatever the case might be, it’s Jalen Brunson and the Knicks who are now up 1-0 in the East Semis. Tyrese Haliburton and the rest of the Pacers will need to dig deep and bounce back in Game 2 on Wednesday.
