Minnesota Vikings announce starting quarterback for Week 14

The Minnesota Vikings have had a roller-coaster of a season in 2023.

After starting out the season 0-3, they have bounced back to get to 6-6 on the season. After Kirk Cousins went down with an Achilles injury, the team turned to Josh Dobbs, who took the league by storm. He won some big games to keep the winning streak alive.

However, after an abysmal performance on "Monday Night Football" against the Bears, some wondered whether the team would make a change. On Wednesday, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell announced that they would be sticking with Dobbs.

Minnesota Vikings Sticking With Josh Dobbs For Week 14

Dobbs will continue to be the starter for the time being. Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall are the only other quarterbacks on the roster, and it's doubtful they are light years better than what Dobbs can offer. The loss against the Bears may have just been a fluky bad game and that is what O’Connell is hoping for. Minnesota needs a big victory on the road in Las Vegas if they are going to hang on to their playoff spot.

Can Minnesota Snag A Playoff Spot?

The Vikings are currently clinging to the sixth spot in the NFC. At this point, it seems like a four-team battle for the final two playoff spots. The Packers, Rams and Seahawks are also in the mix. Teams like the Bears and Bucs could make some noise as well if they go on a winning streak.

The bad news for the Vikings? Two of their final three games are against the division-leading Detroit Lions and they have a date with the Packers as well, which could be a game for a playoff spot. They need Dobbs to bounce back and take this game against the Raiders.

Will Josh Dobbs continue the Cinderella story or has the clock struck midnight? The Minnesota Vikings are hoping they can keep the magic going and snag a playoff spot.
