Watch: Raiders crushing of Chargers stuns owner Mark Davis

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis surely hoped his team would win Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Davis got his wish – and then some.

The Raiders embarrassed the Chargers 63-21 during their “Thursday Night Football” clash at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.

The home team was already up 42-0 at the break but had no plans of easing up in the second half. They held a 56-7 lead early in the fourth quarter against the Chargers, who were facing second-and-13 from their own 22-yard line.

Raiders cornerback Jack Jones intercepted a pass from Chargers quarterback Easton Stick for a pick-six to put the Raiders up 63-7. The electrifying play and sheer dominance shown by the Raiders left Davis speechless in the owner’s suite.

The Chargers allowed 63 points to a Raiders team that was shut out in a 3-0 defeat last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Las Vegas’ scoring total on Thursday was higher than their 46 points combined over their previous three games.

The grizzly scene even had Richard Sherman calling for Chargers head coach Brandon Staley’s head before the second half.

There were reports that the Raiders were planning to bench quarterback Aidan O’Connell if he got off to a slow start against the Chargers.

The rookie responded by throwing for 248 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions to lead the offense to a historic blowout.
